Today was an OK day. During history we had a talk day, which means we have the whole period to talk as one big group. I’m not quite sure about the learning behind it though. Ghelber’s daughter is OK. Apparently she just hit her head on the couch and it swelled up a lot. Everything is OK now. I got to talk with Aimee after first period today, which I enjoyed. … After school I stayed around to help Colby with the poster. We taped it together, but didn’t get any where past there. Aimee said she was going to help, but ended up going to cheer practice and her mom wouldn’t let her help with the poster, so she couldn’t come in the end. She did say she will help tomorrow, so I am planning to stay tomorrow to help. …

Random thoughts
I didn’t go to the carnival today. Aimee… I hope that I can get to know her much better and we can become best of friends. Fortunately I have almost two more years with her, for she is only a junior. … I just hope I can keep making these great friends. … I think I should get involved in “The League”…
Pep Rally / Football
Yesterday was somewhat fun. Lindsey picked me up on the way to school and I helped her put up her posters. The pep rally went pretty much OK. For the football game Ryan and I walked one of the sound pacific speakers up to the football filed and then borrowed a maintenance cart to take the other speaker up there. We brought both of them back in Ryan’s truck, which worked out great. Ryan is a great guy and I am lucky to work with him. During the JV game I was busy with setting up the sound and getting everything else straight. I taped _ of the varsity game and would have taped it all except that Ghelber had to go home. Something happened to his daughter at home and he went running home. Apparently she cut herself and they had to call 911. I hope everything is OK. I paged Ghelber around noon today, but have not heard from him since yesterday. It makes me worried.
Other than Ghelber’s daughter getting hurt, everything went pretty much OK. Aimee and I spent some time together driving around in the golf cart. … Cheryl rode around with us for a little while and so did Tina, of course! …
Block Days :(
Today has been really long. I’m not quite sure why, but it just seemed really long. This morning it was raining so I got a ride from Mr. T to school. It was a block day in which I had Algebra, English and Chemistry. I think the reason why I was so tired was from sitting in the same spot in Algebra and English for two hours. In Algebra we took a test and started a new lesson. In English we took two short tests and did some other things. Mr. Howard gave us a break in the middle of class so we would stay awake and he got to talking to three of us students in the front row. He was asking about brothers & sisters and what we wanted to do in the future. He asked April if she had any brothers or sisters and April said that she had a younger sister. Then he asked me and I told him that I had a younger brother and then made a comment that April and I were a lot a like in that we both knew what having a younger same sex sibling was like. …
After school, I stayed around to help Colby with the poster, but ended up not doing too much to help, but I stuck around and watched anyway. I never realized how much work goes into that poster and I think that Colby or Aimee definitely deserve to receive student of the month because of their dedication to what they have done. I think that Colby and I are pretty good friends now and the same goes with Aimee and me. … The only problem with the friends that I have made is that none of them are in my classes, with the exception of a few. I need to go now because I have to get up early for tomorrow. Lindsey is going to give me a ride to school and I need to be ready by 5:30. See ya!
Back to School Night & Tennis
Yesterday at back to school night I ran lights, while Chris ran audio for PE and the Introduction thing. We showed about 10 minutes of Ghelber’s video to the parents, which I thought was pretty cool. I was originally planning on coming home and then going back later in the afternoon, but then I just decided that what the heck, I would just stay and help out, and I think that my help came in useful, so I am glad I stayed. Colby Robison was at the school working on the poster for this Friday for just about as long as I was there doing sound. Unfourtunately, she didn’t do any more work on it today, which means that she is going to have a ton of work set out for her tomorrow afternoon and evening. I may help her, but I am not sure if I will be of any help. Aimee Emerson, her main helper, has been grounded at home so she hasn’t been able to help much. I feel sorry for Colby. Jessica Gray was at the school helping Colby on Tuesday, but I don’t think that she did too much helping.
Today went OK. It was the first block day of the 1997-98 school year and it was OK. I had world history, Ghelber TA and Spanish. I made up my test in World History. During Ghelber, I stocked soda machines and did other stuff in the golf cart, part of the time with Tina. I couldn’t wait to get out of Spanish because it was so hot in the classroom. She actually let me leave twenty minutes early or so, just so that I could go to TV where there was an air conditioner. ^^^So that’s how it all started!^^^
I found out that Mr. S. will have to teach electronics again this year, at least until they find a new teacher, which it doesn’t look like will happen very greatly. I feel really sorry for him and I wish there was something I could do, but there isn’t. After school, I went to video tape varsity girls tennis. When I got there I walked on the court and started to videotape. The coach came running after me on the court and told me to get off. She is a new coach so didn’t know that it was OK last year when Ghelber and I have done it. I tried everything, but couldn’t get a good shot of anything without being on the court. Next time Ghelber said that he will go down to the courts with me to tape and see if they let him go on the court. Otherwise, I think we should just tell Girls Tennis to plan on not being in the end of the year video. …
During tennis I went and got a ladder to see if I could get above the fence. Unfortunately, I couldn’t so it didn’t help much. As I was going to return the camera, ladder and golf cart, I stopped by cheerleading practice, which had just finished to see if Aimee or Colby was planning on working on the poster this afternoon. When I got to Aimee, she was trying to get up on the goal post and she saw that I had a ladder with me which of course was just perfect. She had me set of the ladder and she went up on top of the goal post just to sit there because she thought it would be fun. The cheer adviser, Ms. Greener, didn’t like the girls up there so she came over and started yelling at everyone, including me. …
Get organized!
I have had a lot of mixed feelings lately. This school year seems to be going good, but I really need to start concentrating on my classes a lot more. Starting this week, I am going to try to do homework at school or at least leave as early as possible and not waste my time at home. I have a social studies project due tomorrow that I never even started and have lots of other stuff that just never got done because I have missed so much class. I look at it [the calendar] and tell myself that I haven’t missed that much, but in reality, once a week, is actually a lot and in some classes it is much more than that. The terrible thing is that a lot of my time spent missing class is just wasted and could be done by someone else, which is something I need to tell Mike Ghelber the next time he wants me out of class to do something that someone else could do. A lot of it is my fault, and not all his or anyone else’s. It’s me. I just like to miss class, because I don’t think its fun and would rather do other things, but it just doesn’t work that way. I would really like it if I could work something out to make my life easier. I think I should talk to my counselor about possibly enrolling in Oasis or something through the high school that won’t screw me up, but would give me the time I need when I need it.
… I met Aimee Emerson on the second Friday of the school year when eight students from FUHS went to West Valley to see their pep rally. … Aimee is a junior at FUHS and a Varsity Cheerleader. … Lindsey Miller, who lives just down Alta Vista a little bit and is in my first period Algebra class. Lindsey seems like a really nice person. She’s also the junior class president… Lindsey moved to Fallbrook at the same time that we did a little over 3 years ago from Colorado. They looked at our house when they moved here.
