Nothing too interesting to report about yesterday. I took a test in my Business Law class, didn’t pay attention – oh wait – I did learn something yesterday in my computer class – Alt+Enter begins a new line within a cell in Excel – i always wondered how to do that, but never cared enough to spend the time to look it up. Oh yeah, then our teacher reinvented mathematics: 9-6+2 = 1 now instead of 5. Econ was alright, we finally had a quiz, but I think I did OK. Then it was off to the library to catch up on some emails before hitting the road home. I came straight home – no dining out (can you believe it) and then basically popped in a movie and went to bed.

I woke up early this morning to work at the Bob this morning – 2 CYT shows and I get to do the same thing again tomorrow. It was actually rather nice because between yesterday’s mass email session and today I’m down to 74 email messages in my inbox! I’ll be happy when I can get rid of the scroll bar again – then I will just have to work on keeping it that way. I ported my nextel number over to Sprint today and that went remarkably well. I then did the phone swap (the treo for the Sanyo) and that also went remarkably well. It is going to be nice to only carry one phone, but it’s going to be weird. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the pager – do I keep it or ditch it? I don’t use it that much, but it really is for emergencies only. It does (or at least used to) work in more areas than my cell phone, but it has been giving me a lot of trouble lately too. What do you think? keep it? ditch it? It costs me $10/month, plus a couple batteries here and there.

After CYT I came home and didn’t do too much because I was too tired to do much of anything. I had dinner at home tonight – this is the 2nd night in a row that I haven’t gone out to dinner! Let’s wait to see what tomorrow brings. I think I’m going to get ready for bed and maybe finish watching “Under the Tuscan Sun.”

Spent most of the day today working on the Bouse’s academy video – encoding it and then building the disc and such. All looks good though – I just have some finishing touches that I need to put on the disc – like fixing the audio levels between the menus and the rest of the disc.

Norma sent me an email this morning to tell me that the marquee wasn’t running what it was supposed to be running, so I went to the high school today to reset the “switch” in the marquee – the computer was running fine, just the signal wasn’t getting from the computer to the signs – resetting the splitter thingey seems to have fixed the problem – but we’ll have to see how it is working tomorrow. I also met up with Sarah to edit a song for dance. I think we’re up to three songs edited now! (I do still have quite a few on the schedule to edit with so things are coming along.) I feel bad that I had to cancel on those two girls that I was supposed to edit with on Thursday & Friday, but I’m sure that we’ll find another time.

I met briefly with Desoree today about what’s going on at GT. … They also finally went out and bought a real printer – an HP 4200TN! I got to help set that up and all that fun stuff before leaving.

In the afternoon, Bouse and Tina came over to work on the video and we hung out for a while when we were waiting for the computer to do some work. That was fun… and made me think of the “old days” and about upcoming options and stuff here… I don’t know what to do with school & all that stuff for the upcoming semesters… I think I need to get out and try something new, but I don’t know what is going to work out best. I still have some time to figure things out – and I’m sure that it will all work out in the end!

We (Bouse, Tina and I) eventually met up with pyro & batch for dinner at Outback in Oceanside which was cool and then it was back home to look at the long list of things that I didn’t get done today. I spent a long time on the phone today with Lauren, even though I don’t really think we discussed all that much – we kept getting distracted by other things – Bouse, Tina, the video, racing to Outback (close call Bouse!), other people calling, etc. I think I was on the phone with her for something like 2 1/2 hours – I guess it’s a good thing I got those n/w minutes starting at 7 now! I had a good talk with Alison on the way back from dinner – it was one of those talks where I was supposed to be helping her and I think I got more out of it than she did. So much of me wants to just get away from everything here so that I can start from scratch, but at the same time I know how hard it would be. I’ve learned/changed so much in the past two months it is really amazing. From seeing what would make me happy to a short experience with life in the dorms to everything else it’s just been an amazing two months so far this year… Who knows what else this year is going to bring… Maybe even some sleep….

Well, it turns out that that tire with the nail (the one that just got fixed less than a week ago for having a slow leak, yeah that one) was not repairable because of where the nail went in. I was actually a little worried about that myself before I got there and they confirmed it when they tried to fix it. So I ended up buying a new tire for that side and used my spare tire so I have a new set of tires on the rear of the truck. I guess the other tires were getting somewhat close to the end of their life so “it’s all good.”

It was nice to not have to worry about the rain today at school. I was able to stay dry all day long and I even got a parking spot this morning without having to wait very long – I didn’t even get to eat my Taco Bell before I found a spot. (I still can’t figure out why My total at Taco Bell up here is only $3.44 when it seems to be $3.76 everywhere else! – I think it has to be a tax thing, but I find it odd that the tax is half here of what it is in San Diego (and elsewhere).)

Business Law was good, ISDS was boring as heck and I ended up online for most of it because I was falling asleep. Econ was OK as usual, we just spent too much time going over little things, but what else is new? I went out to dinner at In & Out with Tammy tonight which was nice, except for the part where I tried to spill my lemonade on her! Then to get back at me she tried to get me lost by parking on the other side of the campus! It’s OK, I seem to have found my way to my next class and I didn’t even have to call her for directions!

After class I met up with Chris & Tina at none other than The Cheesecake Factory, Fashion Island for dessert (at least for me). I tried to drag Aimee along, but she said she was too tired to go, but we tried to have a good time without her – including picking on the waitress who ditched us so she could get off and go drinking.

On the drive home I really got to thinking about a question that Alison asked me when I was talking with her on the way to dessert. She brought back up something I had written a while ago – about who I would want to spend a day with if I had the choice. …

Speaking of old friends … I’m hoping that I’ll have time to respond to her (and maybe some other messages) tomorrow, but for now I think it is time for bed!

Did another wedding today in the rain. No big deal, but again, I didn’t understand why we were outside. Richie came in to see the setup again, I think I’m going to have him start taking some of the weddings there – and I think that he’ll be good because he’s got a decent amount of experience and he isn’t tied to the high school like the rest of us. I think it will be nice to have someone there that isn’t as integrated into everything everywhere like many of the rest of us are. Anyways, the wedding went OK – just everyone got a little wet. Well, not everyone – Amanda didn’t show up today because she was out sick. I didn’t believe her, but she replied to my SMS and told me that she had to go to the ER because of kidney stones. Even though we don’t really do much together at GT it is nice just to have her around – someone else that I know working there.

Came home and convinced the family to do pizza tonight instead of tomorrow. Did dinner and now I’m trying to read for class tomorrow, but I just can’t seem to keep myself awake/focused on the reading. Maybe I need to take a nap and then it will work better. Or maybe I should just go to bed now and then I can do it in the morning, but that will make tomorrow that much longer which could be a bad thing considering I think it will be a very long day to begin with.

Went for a bike ride this morning in the rain with Ryan, then out to lunch with Mike & Alison at Pat & Oscar’s. Then home to change for the wedding I wasn’t planning on working today. Wedding went OK, except that it was outside in the rain – not sure why it was – I didn’t see any reason that it needed to be outside, but I’m not in charge, so I just do my best to make sure everything happens as the bride wishes.

Came home for a bit, did the marquee and then went down to the school to figure out why it didn’t update for today. As soon as I launched ARD I saw that VPC had an error message – it’s all Nate’s fault! He accidentally launched Virtual PC on my laptop last night and therefore caused VPC in the marquee to freak out because they are currently on the same serial number (waiting for the new version to come out). Well, I ended up hanging around the Bob for the rest of the evening and then of course we went out to Friday’s for dinner and we met up with Alison. Everything went good there, but we really need to stop eating out so much. I’m going to explode and my bank account is out of money! (I told myself I wasn’t going to go out tonight, but we all know how that went down!)

Came home to find that my drivers side rear tire has a nice nail in it… I could hear it leaking with the water on the tire. Didn’t I just get the slow leak in that tire fixed??? It wasn’t that long ago that I had to get the nail pulled out of my other rear tire. I think I’m picking them up from the school – I really need to stop going there! So now I have to figure out how I’m going to get that fixed… Maybe I can drive it up to Temecula tomorrow before my wedding or maybe I’ll have to change out the tire and then I could take it up on Monday on my way to school… I guess time will tell…

I guess I forgot to write last night, but then again I was really tired – so here goes for a quick update of the last two days. Thursday morning had a meeting with Patty at CAST about doing tickets for airbands. Within a couple hours of that being over I was back there picking up the tickets. They are now on sale from ASB & CAST and I’m deciding if I want to deal with the online ticket sales or not. I would like to offer them, but want to make sure that I’m going to have the time & resources to deal with them before I agree to do it. Met with Travis briefly in the afternoon to discuss some airbands issues, nothing major. Nathaniel and I then ventured down to Fashion Valley because I still hadn’t had any lunch and was starving – at this point of like 5:30! We had our usual fettuccini with chicken no sun-dried tomatoes and then ventured over to the Apple store to pick up the new iBook for the marquee. Stayed at Apple for a while talking with the genius about running it in the marquee – leaving the battery in or taking it out, running it closed, etc. Spent some more time there downloading updates and dealing with that stuff. Then finally it was back to Cheesecake for dessert (Godiva Chocolate!) and then back up the hill. On the way back up I picked up Alison in Vista and took her home to surprise her mom.

Today (Friday) I basically spend the entire day at the school. I got there a little after 11 to deal with the lunch time pep rally and then after that I stuck around to get everything working with the new computer for the marquee. I left there a little after 7 to come home and rest for a bit before going back down there so that Nate, Batchelor and I could go to Friday’s for the 5th time this week!

Got home from Friday’s and did some reading on LiveJournal … Well, I’m not sure what I’m going to do – but I’m going to try and get some sleep tonight…

Econ went OK, but I didn’t get much reading done ahead of time for the class – I’ve got a lot of reading to do before school next week. This is going to be a busy weekend – no more putting things off because other things that I’ve put off are starting to catch up with me (like my email – which BTW – i got down to 156 this evening).

After Econ I headed over to the TSU to wait out the traffic. I went there instead of the library because I was on the phone with Nathaniel trying to figure out what was going on tonight with dinner. He was getting hungry and wanted to go to Friday’s because he hasn’t been there for a long time (unlike some other people I know). So I figured that we could meet up with Batchelor after he got off work at the Bob at Friday’s Temecula – but that didn’t quite work out as planned. – Pyro bailed on us and it ended up just being Batch & myself after Batch waited for pyro for an hour at the Bob and then I had to wait for Batch for something like another half an hour at Friday’s! I’m not going out to eat at all tomorrow. I don’t care what happens.. I’m not eating! (Anyone ready for some Cheesecake?)

Well, I got a very disturbing call while I was sitting at the TSU waiting on hold with Sprint to once again troubleshoot my vision issues on my Treo. …

… This is driving me crazy. Just when I was almost to the point of actually “sleeping” at night. Now I’m sure the restless nights are back! What am I going to do???

It’s raining, it’s pouring, the old man is snoring (or at least I wish that I was!) Anyways, just wanted to take a second to complain about the rain… even though I love the rain… When I got out of Business Law it was raining outside – no biggie – walk down to my next class to find that the substitute is kicking us out and we have to go away. Great, back to the library (right next to my previous class). Of course, by this time, it is pouring outside and I hadn’t even dried off from my last excursion! This is actually probably a good thing because it will let me (maybe) get some reading in for my Econ class before it starts in an hour.

The drive up this morning was actually rather nice – it was nice to just grab the laptop & books and jump in the car. Nothing else to worry about. I left the house at about 9:45 and got in the parking lot here at 11. Really didn’t hit any traffic besides the spots where one always hits traffic. I even got a parking spot within about 5 minutes which was pretty amazing.

I came to the library, hopped on the Internet for some stuff and then went over to the TSU for some lunch. I again went with the pizza (because there was no line) and then found a table to share with someone because the place was packed. Nothing like Monday night. On my way back to the library from the TSU I stopped by the bookstore to check out the Apple collection. They actually had a decent amount of Apple stuff, I was pretty impressed. I even have a picture of a familiar poster that we all might recognize. (When Sprint gets my vision working I’ll upload it!) Unfortunately, they didn’t have in stock the one thing that I was looking for – a battery for my powerbook, but I noticed they had all sorts of other toys… I better stay out of there!

OK… off to get some econ reading in before class!

I actually got some stuff done today, but still have a long list of things to do… Got up a little on the late side – watched Everwood this morning while eating breakfast – and then it was off for a bikeride. After the bikeride I did a really quick washing of the truck – but didn’t take the time to properly dry it or check for missed spots – and man did I miss things! No matter what though, the truck looks much better now that I got at least some of the dirt off of it.

I edited dance music with Ashley today at the school, talked with Travis about airbands briefly and then it was off to Discount Tire to get my oil change and my slow leaky tire fixed. Then to my favorite store – Costco! I have been having really bad luck there lately though because I keep not being able to find things that I want/need. For example, what I’ve been dying for lately is the pasta that they don’t seem to carry anymore. I really miss the one type that they had in the variety pack. I want it back! They also didn’t have any cinnamon rolls today and they were kind of on the list. I think I’m just going to have to start shopping at another Costco or something!

Then I came home to get some homework done, but that didn’t happen. I talked on the phone with Lauren for a while, talked briefly with Alana & Alison and then tried to get some stuff done before going down to the Bob to meet up with the guys (Batch, Doug & Mike) for dinner at… Friday’s… How’d you guess it? Nothing too crazy developed there – it was just nice to hang out with the guys (even though we just did it last night!) I even got Batch to drive!

Well, time for bed so that I can get up and do some homework in the morning before heading off to Fullerton!

Didn’t do much today. I was actually fairly lazy for most of the day. Eventually I went down to the Bob to hang out there instead of sitting around the house and then when CYT was done Doug, Mike, Batchelor and I headed up to “The Bar” (Friday’s) for some dinner. I never had lunch, so I was really hungry. We had a good time – which I think I needed because I was pretty down for most of the day, but probably just because I wasn’t doing anything. (Not that I didn’t have anything to do – just that I didn’t want to do anything on my list of things to do.)

I spent a good deal of the day “playing” with my new phone – making sure that I had all the numbers from my Nextel in my address book – making sure that people’s entries were complete in the address book on the Palm, stuff like that. Still waiting for my vision to work on it, but the SMS is really nice.

Met Lupe this morning to edit some more of her airband music. That went well once I figured out how to edit music again because it had been so long since I’d done it! After that I came home for a second, and then hit the road to Best Buy (after convincing myself that I would just get the phones later) in order to get some new phones. I picked up the Treo 600 for myself and a Nokia 3588i phone for Tom and one for Susan. Came home, played with them a bit while making lunch and waiting on the phone for a CSR to do the swap for me.

Ended up being about 30 mins late to the wedding, but was still ready for sound check for the singer 3 mins early! Everything went well there today – no rain, although I had to wait around after the wedding because they took pictures at the gazebo.

Came home again for a couple minutes to check email and see what was new before heading out to Outback Oceanside to meet up with pyro & Batchelor for a quick (very long) dinner. The wait was over an hour when we got there. (Good thing I called ahead, cause that meant we only had to wait like an hour!) I got some apps for the phone from them and that kind of stuff.

Came home to play some more with the phone and do some chatting. Now it’s time for bed. Sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite!

Woke up this morning at 6:30 to discover that it wasn’t raining outside so I figured that I could safely go back to sleep. (Had it been raining then I would have had to get ready to go into GT to train James on a chapel wedding.) I awoke to a wonderful phone call at 7:50 this morning (Aimee calling just to talk for a couple – she was waiting for her train to NYC). After that phone call, I decided that I should call Pat to make sure that I didn’t need to be there today and she agreed that it didn’t look like it was going to rain so I kept laying in bed waiting for a reason to get up. About 9:15 I finally dragged myself out of bed because I was worried about something I might have put online from the other day (not the shower incident!)

Didn’t do too much this morning – talked with people online (mainly Lauren and Alison) then finally decided that I needed to get in the shower and get ready for work. Everything went well at the wedding, besides the fact that I was just really down about being there today. After the wedding, Chris, Lauren and I went to Pat & Oscar’s in Temecula. We were supposed to meet up with Pyro there, but he didn’t want to walk across the street (he didn’t want to park his 24 ft. truck at Oscar’s) and we didn’t want to fight traffic to get back over there to pick him up. He finally decided just to go home I guess… I’m sorry that it didn’t work out for him, but there was plenty of parking at Oscars… Then there was the whole thing that Lauren didn’t know that Pyro was coming… I don’t think she was ready to Pyro bash in person.

We ate lots of food and then hit the road to home, but the excitement wasn’t quite over yet… Somehow Lauren managed to puncture the fire extinguisher underneath her seat and the car filled with the powder from it! We had to evacuate the car and figure out what the problem was… Lauren and I were laughing hysterically… That was the best laugh I’d had in a really long time! That ended the evening – we all went home to do whatever. I think I’m going to pop a movie in and then head to bed, although I’m waiting to hear back from Alison as she needs to talk about something but is currently watching a movie…

I never got my Taco Bell today… I think I’m going to have to cry myself to sleep…

I spent the morning shuffling paperwork and actually got quite a bit done – w2s are printed, payroll taxes and forms are close to being ready to go, got some bills paid, accounts reconciled, etc… I actually got through the entire stack of papers that was on the blue chair in my room (which is all the stuff that used to be cluttered on the desk).

The show at the Bob was easy and everything worked out just fine. I got through some emails and other stuff during their first show and then Lauren and I just sat back and watched “My Best Friend’s Wedding” during the second showing of “The Book of Mormon.” Of course, we had to fight over the chair – and we ended up sharing it because I wouldn’t give it up – and then she kept trying to fall off, but all in all it was a good evening at the Bob.

We (Lauren, Batchelor and I) ran up to Friday’s for a real quick bite after the show and then it was home to talk with Alison and now hopefully bedtime… I have to be up in like 4 hours to see if I have to go to Grand Tradition or not – if it’s raining I have to go in to train James on how to do a chapel wedding. Good night all …

For all of us who feel only the deepest love and affection for the way computers have enhanced our lives, read on. At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated, “If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon”.

In response to Bill’s comments, General Motors issued a press release stating: If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics ( and I just love this part):

1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash twice a day.

2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.

3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull over to the side off the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this.

4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.

5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive – but would run on only five percent of the roads.

6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single “This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation” warning light.

7. The airbag system would ask “Are you sure?” before deploying.

8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.

9. Every time a new car was introduced car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.

10. You’d have to press the “Start” button to turn the engine off.
