Today was a pretty mixed day. I got into it this morning with Aimee. I responded to something in her journal … It wasn’t hard to write it, but it was hard to submit it because I knew what it was going to do to her – or at least what I thought it would do to her. … So many loose ends that don’t make any sense to me… …

I made it to Grand Tradition finally this morning to discover that their audio console is having some issues. When it powers up it is making some weird noises… I think it has probably just reached it’s end of life. Now I have to figure out what is going to be the best thing to do. I really want to get a Midas board for down below and move the Mackie (when it gets back from repair) to the Grand Hall, but that plan is also going to involve spending the something like $2k on the mixer which is double what another Mackie would cost and something like 4x what another similar board would cost. I came home to start working on pricing some different options, had some lunch and then it was off to the school.

I spent some more time editing dance music today, and we’re down to 3 songs left to cut. I spent a long time on the “last dance” and man those edits just sound like crap… I can’t figure out what to do to clean it up and still keep the edits where they want them. It sure doesn’t help that the file has got like 40 different regions in it now from all the different edits we’ve done. Sarah came over to get 2 CDs from me, but we didn’t actually get to cut any music today. I guess I didn’t screw anything up the last time around – damn! I’ll have to find a way to see her again… :)

This show in the Bob has been fairly easy, but has been high stress. Just about everything “simple” or “stupid” has been going wrong. It will be interesting to see how things come off with the first show tomorrow evening. Lauren stopped by again today and stayed much later today – I guess I did a better job of entertaining her, but she eventually got tired and called for a ride home. Actually, I think she just stayed longer because she was waiting for a ride for a long portion of the time. I think she had fun, and I guess I might have had a little bit of fun, even though I’m going to be all black & blue in the morning. …

After work I went out to Friday’s with Alison & Mike for a “quick” dinner because I was starving. Nothing major to report there, we were fairly quiet for the evening and only managed to down 2 rounds of strawberry lemonades (I could have kept going, but we weren’t brought anymore). Then home to where we are now. I’m kind of tired but at the same time I’ve got all this energy… I think I’m scared of what is to come … What happened to the easy life? I’m so ready to just start over from scratch. Who can help me with that? I mean move, maybe keep one or two key friends, screw the rest and just start a fresh… So many options… I need someone to decide for me!

I set the alarm for 5:30 this morning so that I could be at GT before anyone else and get the sound system fired up to see what the problem is, but then the next thing I know it’s like 7 something and I still can’t get myself out of bed. I watched Century City and started playing with getting Bouse’s DVDs burnt so I don’t have to worry about them anymore, but for the life of me, they just didn’t want to work with me. I wiped the 12″, restored Jaguar and gave it a try and now I’ve got the printer working, but the discs are still failing verification. I’m going to have to give it some more time tomorrow so that these things can get out. If worse comes to worse, I will stick them in my desktop one at a time to get them done because they need to go out, but I also need to figure out what the problem here is. I’m going to try re-reading the disc and maybe that will help. Maybe I can also try a different brand of disc as I haven’t been that impressed with these discs and maybe they aren’t helping.

I finally made it to GT around 10:45 to find that they had everything setup and working as I had worried they would. I knew once I saw Jeremiah that it must have been setup for Rotary. Left there fairly quickly, got the mail and then headed to the high school to edit music. Once again, we didn’t get the editing done, but that’s fine cause I was then off to lunch with Alison and her mom at Oscar’s! We cruzed it out there in the Jeep, had our Monday meal and then it was back home so we could get back to work… I was headed back to the school to meet Sarah and some others to edit some more dance music. Sarah had to come back because I cut out a beat on one of her songs that she kind of wanted to have in there. I just told her that I did it on purpose so she would have to come back. I’m not sure what I’ll do to this disc so that she will have to come back again, but I’m sure I’ll think of something – maybe just no ending. We of course spent the entire period editing music between Sarah and the rest of the girls – mostly fixing songs that had already been edited – they decided they wanted them to be cut differently (and we had some edits to clean up).

The editing lasted into the Classical Academy rehearsal, but we were done in time for me to deal with getting them going. Lauren stopped by, but left after a while because she was bored out of her mind – I don’t blame her – I’m sorry though… I never said it was going to be fun for her… Things went better today, but we still had problems with the wireless mics even after I moved them down to the stage. It was nice to get the compressors back and running on them because they were desperately needed! Mike stopped by to return the parking permit finally today and then hung out for the rest of the evening which was cool. The two girls dealing with the lighting – Brie and Shannon – signed onto AIM on the booth computer and my laptop and then I started talking to all of Brie’s friends for a while, but she had to keep coming over to clean things up… That was fun and definitely kept me entertained for a while when there wasn’t much else going on. Pyro & Batchelor stopped by around 7:30 so that we could go out to dinner, fixed some things – like the rigging on some of the set pieces – good job Nate! I thought the whole purpose of me calling you in was so that I didn’t get in trouble!) I was going to have them look at the ASB sound system – or the cabinet that is having the problems with passing the highs to the others, but I think we just forgot about it (and they didn’t want to deal with it).

Once we got done there around nine I picked up Alison and then we headed over to a crammed table at Chilis for dinner. I think everyone had a fairly good time there even though we had no personal space to claim for ourselves. When the food came, we spread out to another table across the way so that we could actually eat in “peace.”

I talked with Alison briefly this evening about the future and I really need to figure out what I’m going to do. SDSU, Fullerton, San Jose? Information Systems, Hospitality, Law? I really want to get out of Fallbrook and be able to focus more on school, but it’s too hard to leave what I’ve got going here. Honestly, if I didn’t have the bills to pay at the end of each month (when I remember) I think I’d be in San Jose right now, but the real side of the equation points out that I have bills to pay each month and that life isn’t that easy. I think I’m going to keep things going at Fullerton as pre-business and I know I’ve got another semester of classes to take before I’ll get past that point, but I also highly doubt that I’m going to get a schedule like I got this semester where I’ll be able to come home all the time. Now, I wouldn’t be opposed to living in Fullerton Mon-Thur and coming home on the weekends, but I think I would be happier if I could just move to Fullerton. Maybe if I can find a job up there I can start working on moving or something, but it’s going to be a hard transition to figure out.

Alison and I talked briefly …

Oh well – it is probably time for bed now… I’m going to try to get up in the morning and take care of Grand Tradition but I’ll believe it when I see it. I still have to figure out what I can do to make Sarah have to come back tomorrow and then I’m anxiously waiting to see who I can talk to tomorrow at the Bob (online that is…)

Got up late again today, watched some TV and then it was off to GT for a wedding and man was it hot outside. We had a singer/guitarist today that brought basically his own PA, but we plugged into our stuff and he actually sounded pretty good – I liked what he played.

After the wedding it was home for a bit and then off to the Old Spaghetti Factory for Pyro’s birthday party. Man we had a large group there… it was fun… met some people… put some faces to some names… After that it was back to his place to see the clean house and more importantly the clean room! I know that you don’t believe me, so i’m going to have to put up a picture:

Kristi came by – it was cool to see her and the rest of the people I haven’t seen in a while, but then we had to go so that Nate & Stephanie could watch the Britney thing on TV and Ryan, Mike and I could just get home to get stuff done (and watch Alias eventually!)

On the way home we were talking about Vegas and Ryan said that he should take Aimee and me out there this weekend so that we can get married. I’m not even sure what to say to that at this point …

Happy Birthday Kristi!

Because I didn’t get home until late into the night I didn’t get up and do much Friday morning. In fact, by the time I was up and ready to face the world, I didn’t even have time to go get that hard drive for Jeff. I still haven’t heard from him, so I’m just kind of hoping that he forgot that I was even supposed to come over, which could be a good thing. I spent some time paying some bills and dealing with stuff like that and then it was off to Grand Tradition for a wedding. I didn’t know until I got there that this was going to be a chapel wedding, so that was a pleasant surprise because it let me get out of there earlier. As soon as I got out of there it was home to change and then off to Power Plus to get a truck, grab some dinner and then load out trucks at Spreckles. I was supposed to go to dinner with Ryan and Fuddruckers, but as usual he was being lazy and didn’t want to drive up to Mira Mesa for dinner (he was down at SDSU working the Rod Stewart concert), but instead we met up and Beniganns which is an “irish pub.” It was actually pretty good and decently cheap. I thought we were going to be really rushed, but pyro called and said that things were going slow there and that I had some time to spare so I had some time to sit, enjoy my meal and talk. Oh yeah, we met up with Jamie Winkleman and her roommate, Amber. It was cool to see Jamie because I haven’t seen her in something like 4 years so that was cool and it was nice to try a new restaurant.

The strike at Spreckles for the Ruben tour was fairly quick and easy and then it was off to the Bar (TGI Fridays’) at Mt. Carmel. We had a couple strawberry lemonades that were really good – we just might have to start going there instead of Temecula – and some food before hitting the road to dump my truck and return it before calling it a night.

This morning, like yesterday, I slept in till rather late and then just sat back and played it easy for about an hour before facing the world. Chris called me from the Sprint store asking me what else he needed to get/do with his new phones. I guess he got so pissed at Nextel because of problems yesterday that he just figured he was going to switch. Sounds good to me. This switch to Sprint is happening much faster than my moving everyone to Nextel a couple years ago. After a shower, it was off to Grandma Philia’s to help move some patio furniture. Once I got there I started getting calls about the fires for the day. The high school ran out of helium while blowing up balloons for the Sadie Hawkins dance tonight so I had to figure out what to do – and after making some calls, I ended up at GT borrowing one of their tanks. Now I just need to make sure that they get a new tank over there on our dime.

After dealing with the helium, I continued to kidnap Ryan and took him shopping. First Costco and then Best Buy because Costco didn’t have the phone that he was looking for. Best Buy had it and we got him setup with a temporary number so that he can try Sprint out before porting his number. So far he seems to be happy with it. After our small shopping spree I took him home and came home myself to get ready for the dance. Not having any 80’s clothes, I went in my regular shirt and tie apparel, which really didn’t matter seeing that I spent almost the entire night in the ASB office, but I was getting stuff done. First I had to clear my compact flash cards so that Ryan could take pictures and then I was just going through them looking at the pictures and then trying to get them online, but I didn’t get that far. Maybe I can get the Sadies pictures online here in the next couple days (yeah right), but I did get them imported already to the computer which is a big step in the right direction.

While I was sitting there tonight … this song by Hoobastank: The Reason.

i’m not a perfect person. there are many things i wish i didnt do
but i continue learning. i never meant to do those things to you.
and so i have to say before i go, that i just want you to know

i’ve found a reason for me, to change who i used to be
a reason to start over new, and the reason is you

i’m sorry that i hurt you, its something i must live with everyday
and all the pain i put you through, i wish that i could take it all away
and be the one who catches all your tears, thats why i need you to hear

i’ve found a reason for me, to change who i used to be
a reason to start over new, and the reason is you,
and the reason is you, and the reason is you, and the reason is you

i’m not a perfect person, i never meant to do those things to you
and so i have to say before i go that i just want you to know

i’ve found a reason for me, to change who i used to be
a reason to start over new, and the reason is you
i’ve found a reason to show a side of me you didnt know
a reason for all that i do, and the reason is you

I can’t figure out what I’m supposed to get out of this song. …

After the dance it was off to Friday’s again (why not?) with Batchelor, Pyro, Ryan, Jamie, Amber, Amber’s best friend and then two of Jamie’s friends – Courtney and ? – showed up to join us for a bit. That was kind of fun, but I think I need to spend some time away from Friday’s now… three days in a row has really put me over the top I think. I actually don’t know when I’ll be back there. Tomorrow night will be Spaghetti Factory for Pyro’s birthday and who knows anything after that!

I got home about 1:45 and honestly couldn’t tell you what I’ve done in the hour and a half that I’ve been home other than copy the marquee files, get ready for bed, listen to that song again and write in here… There so needs to be more time in the day! Oh, I guess I responded to two LJ entries, but that barely consumes any time.

In other news, Alison has been home now for like a day and I haven’t even seen her… and I haven’t even been to Oscar’s! I know that we’re meeting up on Monday and I probably won’t even see her until then, but I thought it was newsworthy..

I’m all caught up with the Alias episodes and am going crazy waiting for the next one to air on Sunday. I might not even be able to wait for it to finish recording for me to start watching it… I might have to, God forbid, watch live television! I really need a life to distract me from my Alias withdrawals. Any ideas? Well, I’m sure there is more to report, but my bed is really calling me seeing that it is after 3:30!

Driving home during rush hour actually only added about 10 minutes to my commute, which is pretty amazing if you ask me. I may not need to stay at the school any longer on Wednesday nights, especially if I have stuff to get done at home. It did however cost me $5.50 to use the FastTrak, although I don’t really think that it provided me with any advantage over just using the regular lanes.

The drama show last night went fine. Just like the daytime show – nothing fun to report there.

Today I was up early for breakfast with Alana. It was nice to see her and have a chance to sit and talk for a while. I miss the good old days, but then again, who doesn’t? I kind of wish that I had more friends like her (and many others of course). She really helped so much with my senior year – and making me eat so much… Between her and Bouse all I ever do/did is/was eat!

After breakfast it was home to try and get some work done – like with the DVDs, but for some reason the 12″ powerbook just wasn’t cooperating… I think it is time for a nice little hard drive backup and then a restore to factory settings cause I just can’t get the printer driver to install. The only thing that I can think of right now is that the driver won’t install in Panther and I have just installed it on my other computers pre-Panther.

Running back out the door after fussing with the powerbook for too long it was off to the high school to wait for dance girls so that I could cut some music. Unfortunately, the first one didn’t have all of the cds that she needed, so that wasn’t too successful, but we let the girls in to dance on the stage and then I went over to ASB to run Mary through the video editing process really quickly. Went to Taco Bell for lunch (sorry Tammy, again no Del Taco in Fallbrook) and then back to the school to edit more music, but the girl I was supposed to edit with 5th period wasn’t anywhere to be found. I still don’t know who it was or anything – or maybe I just wrote something down wrong (highly possible). Then the editing marathon began. I don’t even know how many songs we got covered during sixth period, but I think we had fun. Sarah was ringing the doorbell even before the period had started and we started editing her music, but then some of the other girls showed up and because they had appointments earlier, we stopped to cut there music. We spent the entire period, plus some, until about 3:15 editing music between all the different groups that we got done, but it was nice to have some time to connect with some of the girls cause I really don’t know anyone anymore!

The rehearsal for Classical went fairly well. We kept having issues with the wireless mics, but I guess that’s to be expected when you’re not dealing with the Shure U series mics… After the Bob it was home to again work on these discs because I would really like to get them out in the mail tomorrow. I talked with Lauren for quite some time tonight (she must have been bored) while I was working both at the Bob and at home. I was really in the mood for some strawberries tonight and as it turned out, Bouse was in town to pick up a truck full of gear for a Power Plus show in LA tomorrow so Bouse, Spike, Tina, Erin, Pyro and me met up at TGI Friday’s in Carlsbad for a quick dinner/drink. They started working on kicking us out of there a little after 1 (oh yeah, we didn’t get there until about 11:15 and pyro didn’t show up until after midnight). Ryan was going to stop by, but he was stuck in traffic or something like that on his way back from school and he has to be on the road early in the morning for his show at Cox.

Not sure what else to report – I should probably just go to sleep… I kept hearing things today – once from Aimee and once from Tina (I think both were joking, but it just seemed odd) and I think elsewhere about my new girlfriend or something… and I’m sitting there thinking wow, this is news to me. Aimee of course thought it was Alison and then Tina was describing some hot chick and going on and on about her at dinner tonight. Of course, both of them were obviously high on something cause there is no new girlfriend – in fact there is no girlfriend at all… but I think that is a topic for another late night… Anyone want to change that status so that Tina & Aimee actually have someone to talk about???

First of all, before I forget to mention it – Happy 21st Birthday Pyro. I guess I can’t make this nearly as embarrassing as I did when he turned 16, but his name – well PYRO – is up in lights, rather large lights at the school for the day – assuming of course that the marquee is actually working … if not, maybe he can come up to fix it tonight.

My alarm went off at 6:30 this morning so that I could get up and do a bunch of reading before school, but I don’t think I started reading until almost 8 – and I didn’t even watch an episode of Alias.. where did all the time ago? Then of course I was distracted by talking with Aimee and Ryan online and didn’t start reading for a while, but I got some reading in before hopping in the shower. I ended up leaving the house late and then after stopping at in-n-out for lunch, I didn’t get to campus until about 11:45. By the time I got to the library and got settled, I just didn’t feel like doing anymore reading so I just went through the powerpoint before going to class and facing the exam. I think I did ok… definitely not great, but I don’t feel that bad about it. Then it was back to the library to try and get the “Stacy’s Mom” song out of my head. I think it worked cause I got it stuck in Alison’s head and actually I think I completely got rid of it until right now when I stupidly had to say it again! Damn! OK, I need a new song to get stuck in my head… any suggestions?

In any event, I had fun going through emails and singing to Alison while she was supposed to be working and then it was off to my ISDS class to sit there for an hour and half and do nothing but surf the Internet. Aimee tried really hard to keep me entertained, and I think I have to give her all the credit I can for trying really hard… including the stories… wow…

Now I’m sitting in my Econ class – waiting for the teacher to show up – maybe he won’t and then I won’t have to rush to the Bob, but I doubt that. He did tell us last time that he would be here every class so that we would get our economic value or something out of the class. I’ve also been looking at the rest of this week and all of next week and man I’m going to be busy. I have to be at the school tomorrow for Classical Academy 2:30-9:30 and I have to be there before hand to edit some dance music and see if Nathaniel got me the right song for Sarah – and Sarah, you didn’t lie to your mom… we weren’t on the phone for 3 hours!

Well, the teacher just showed up, so I guess I’ll have to face the music. I think we may have a quiz coming up here today because the one girl isn’t here today – and whenever she isn’t here he seems to give us a test. I guess she didn’t want to get slapped today. Let’s see if today is fun… No jokes or anything even to start class with… I need a haircut… (random, I know…)

Oh no… that stupid song is stuck in my head again… Stacy’s mom… has got it going on… come on.. I need a new song!!!!! Help! Please. :) Should I pull out my iPod in class and try to find a new song?

Last night I left class around 8:30, got gas for the truck and then headed home. Not quite what I had thought was going to happen, but it’s good because it got me home early and let me get some sleep so that I could try to struggle to stay awake today at the Bob. This morning went fine besides the fact that I had to get up early! Drama show was quick and easy and it gave me lots of time between checking the kids for backpacks to sort through all the posts over at ncairbands that seem to have gotten a little out of hand in the past couple days. Fortunately, Matt Hanan called me this morning to let me know about the forums. I’m glad he did so that I had a chance to go in and try to take back control!

Doug and I went to nowhere other than Subway for lunch – and I had nothing other than the meatball combo with double chocolate chips (I think I need to find something/somewhere new to eat one of these days.) After lunch we did the loadin for Classical Academy. The loadin went fine, but it just seemed like it was going slow. Most of the time I didn’t really have much to do because of limited resources (drills, room on the stage, etc.) but I guess that’s just part of the job.

I came home after work to talk with Nathaniel and go through more posts on the ncairbands message board. Then I grabbed some Rice Krispies and watched an episode of Alias hoping that I was going to get to bed before 9, but then I realized that I had to do the marquee! Damn the marquee! Now it is after 10 and I’m still not in bed, but I will be shortly after I post this! I have to get up tomorrow to do a bunch of reading for business law class because I have an exam in there – and after all my classes I get to face rush hour traffic to get back to the Bob for another drama show.

My Immortal
My Immortal.

Your Lyrics

I’m so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my childish fears
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
‘Cause your presence still lingers here
And it won’t leave me alone

These wounds won’t seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There’s just too much that time cannot erase

When you cried I’d wipe away all of your tears
When you’d scream I’d fight away all of your fears
I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
All of me

You used to captivate me
By your resonating light
Now I’m bound by the life you left behind
Your face it haunts
My once pleasant dreams
Your voice it chased away
All the sanity in me

These wounds won’t seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There’s just too much that time cannot erase

When you cried I’d wipe away all of your tears
When you’d scream I’d fight away all of your fears
I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
All of me

I’ve tried so hard to tell myself that you’re gone
But though you’re still with me
I’ve been alone all along

When you cried I’d wipe away all of your tears
When you’d scream I’d fight away all of your fears
I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
All of me

My inner child is forty-five years old today

My inner child is forty-five years old!

I’ve never really liked children, not even when I
was one. I want things neat, ordered, and
adult–fine wine instead of french fries, pina
coladas by the pool instead of beach sand
between my toes. Now if only my fellow adults
would stop acting like such, well, children!

tree shadow
You are a forest shadow. Your essence is that of
the tree or beast that casts you upon the
earth. You feel a purpose to be in balance
with the cycles of life and are wise and
beautiful in your submission to the justice of
Mother Nature. You are peaceful in nature and,
though you feel small, your spirit is precious,
strong, and mighty as the (green)forces with
which it is affiliated. (please rate my quiz
cuz it took me for freaking ever to create)

entrancing
You have an entrancing kiss~ the kind that leaves
your partner bedazzled and maybe even feeling
he/she is dreaming. Quite effective; the kiss
that never lessens and always blows your
partner away like the first time.

Went to In-N-Out today for lunch on the way to school, even though Ryan didn’t want to wait for me. It was actually really good and I’m glad that I stopped. I also scored a parking spot fairly quickly and had time to enjoy my food and even send out pictures of it. Business Law and Econ went fairly well, I think that most of the class was laughing through most of it because both teachers kept saying funny things. I got through a lot of emails along with getting the marquee done during ISDS, I just wish that I had an internet connection in there other than my sprint phone. Did the usual pizza for dinner and then off to the library to read the chapter that I missed last week in accounting. Now I’m sitting here in accounting waiting for the teacher to show up – almost hoping she doesn’t so that I can find something else to do… However, I’m sure the teacher is here because I got an email from her about an hour ago about the WSJ readings. Not sure what is going on after class, but I do know that I have to be at the Bob at 6:45 tomorrow morning!
