1 Nephi 8-10, 15

15:8 … Have ye inquired of the Lord?
15:11 … If ye will not harden your hearts, and ask me in faith, believing in your hearts, and ask me in faith, believing that ye shall receive, with diligence in keeping my commandments, surely these things shall be made known unto you.
D&C 50:29 And if ye are purified and cleansed from all sin, ye shall ask whatsoever you will in the name of Jesus and it shall be done.

How is it that one can say, “I don’t know how,” or anything else along those lines if one hasn’t even taken the time to ask the Lord how. “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened” (Matt 7:7-8). “Ask, and ye shall receive…” (D&C 4:7). Why is it so hard for man to ask for directions? Maybe the women back then wouldn’t have been afraid to ask God for direction…
