Don’t Tell Me

You held my hand and walked me home, I know
While you gave me that kiss, it was something like this that made me go ooh ohh
You wiped my tears, got rid of all my fears
Why did you have to go?
Guess it wasn’t enough to take up some of my love
Guys are so hard to trust

Did I not tell you that I’m not like that girl
The one who gives it all away

Did you think that I was gonna give it up to you, this time?
Did you think that it was something I was gonna do and cry?
Don’t try to tell me what to do
Don’t try to tell me what to say
You’re better off that way, yeah

Don’t think that your charm and the fact that your arm is now around my neck
Will get you in my pants, I’ll have to kick your ass and make you never forget
I’m gonna ask you to stop, thought i liked you alot, but i’m really upset (really upset)
Get out of my head, get off of my bed
Yeah, that’s what I said

Did I not tell you that I’m not like that girl
The one who throws it all away, yeah

Did you think that I was gonna give it up to you, this time?
Did you think that it was something I was gonna do and cry?
Don’t try to tell me what to do
Don’t try to tell me what to say
You’re better off that way, yeah

This guilt trip that you put me on won’t
Mess me up, i’ve done no wrong
Any thoughts of you and me have gone
Away, yeah

Did you think that I was gonna give it up to you, this time?
Did you think that it was something I was gonna do and cry?
Don’t try to tell me what to do
Don’t try to tell me what to say
You’re better off that way, yeah

Better off that way

I’m better of alone anyway

Guitars Unplugged

I got through two lessons of phil today, thanks once again to Allison. I was leaving the library this afternoon, ready for a break and got downstairs, talked with Becca for a bit and then we saw Allison coming in. So I went back upstairs and finished the lesson I was working on. Earlier today I met with Josh Williams in admissions and it looks like I have to write a letter of appeal to the board to see if I can get them to accept me. We can’t even guess which way it would go, so it isn’t worth speculating, but hopefully i can come up with a compelling enough letter for them to let me in.

I went to Guitars Unplugged tonight with Allison, her sister, Lesley, and her friend. I’m glad that she asked about it because I had great time for $3, and I even have BYU-Idaho stamped on my hand now. There were a couple good groups, and a couple good songs, but none that were really bad or anything. It was a good show and I’m happy we went. We didn’t wing the guitar though. :( After the show we went back to her apartment for a bit and then we all took off for the beach party dance. I’m still not used to being a participant in any of this, but Allison tried to teach me a salsa dance, but I think she gave up! We did one other dance – to Britney – Everytime – that DJ was in love with Britney or something because I think he played almost all of her music! After that we played volleyball for a while, then the girls went back to dance while I kept playing volleyball. After the girls left we started to get really bad, so I gave up after a while and regrouped for a bit. Then Allison and I decided to walk home. We came back here and finally broke into the ice cream. Because of curfew (and because it is hot in our apartment for some reason) we went outside and sat in the bed of the truck and had our ice cream. She seemed happy with the Breyer’s white mint choc. chip… she had never heard of it before! I walked her home and that was the night.

Tomorrow it is back to the library bright and early and then I’ve got to deal with tables (it feels like I’m back home) with Becca around noon, and I’m not sure where that is going to take me… I have two lessons left to get done in phil, along with some other homework, and maybe if I’m lucky some fun too!
