Anyone want a ReplayTV 5080? 80 hours record time (low quality – expect something more like 40 for decent recordings) with commercial skip. You’re also going to have to pay the monthly service charges (of $10) unless you can find a way around them… $100+ seems like a reasonable price to me… (This is Bouse’s unit, not mine…)

On Wednesday Bouse came over in the morning and we made some calls about airbands. It turns out that the Del Mar Fairgrounds are not going to work out as they already have conflicting events booked when we are looking at doing our show. Bouse and I took the tissue paper back down to Germain – all the stuff that is left over from this year that they would take back without a restock. This way I won’t have to worry about when we might use that stuff again and hopefully we won’t have the problems with the die lots again. Of course, it was raining pretty darn hard while we decided to do this, but I thought it was now or never so we went for it. We get to Pickett Street and it is just Lake Pickett. We gave it lots of gas though and got through the Lake and pulled up at Germain to find that they were basically closed because the place was flooded. Fortunately, there was still someone there who took our returns.
Then it was off to lunch at Fudds… mmm… I love that place! Then we worked on calling some other venues for airbands on our way to Fry’s. There is a possibility that we might be able to use the Jenny Craig Center at USD, but that is going to be a bit more of a drive. I just wonder how many would drive down there for NC Regionals. At Fry’s I got the new version of Virtual PC so that hopefully things are a little bit faster on my end of the marquee. I also picked up a new keyboard for my desktop. My wrists have been bothering me lately after typing for a while on that keyboard. I love the keyboard on my laptop and I found a keyboard that feels like my laptops keyboard so I hope it will work out better for me.
After Fry’s we got a call from Chad that said ASB’s new video screen was at Sound Image, so we went and picked it up. Well, after getting the screen we took a right out of Sound Image and ended up at the auto park. We weren’t looking for anything, but saw a cool looking truck parked on top of a car in front of the GMC dealership. Turn around and go back to check it out. Then, a couple hours later, Mr. Bouse is the proud new owner of a 2004 GMc Sierra 2500 crew cab. I basically told Bouse that if he didn’t buy the truck that day, I was going to, so he bought it… I think he’s rather happy about now. You can see pictures of Bouse’s new toy on his site at cbouse.com.
So that was Wednesday. Then Thursday I had to be up early for CYT school shows at the Bob. Those went well and then Chad and I went to lunch at Taco Bell… for over two hours! Oops… I guess we just didn’t have anything we’d rather do. Then we decided to go pick up his new spot lights in Vista and see what other trouble we could get ourselves into. We went to Fry’s to look at security cameras for the Bob cause I’m lazy and I’m tired of walking out to the front to see who is out there…
Friday I was back at the school at nutrition to edit music for dance. We played with the new camera for a bit and then went to the Firehouse for the first time this week! Then I went home for a bit to “rest” before coming back to work the evening CYT show. Of course, I think I got more work done at home “resting” than I do on most days, but such is life…
The show last night went pretty well, except for the usual amount of irritations…. I kept trying to open the house and people would be walking across the stage. Then I found this tour group up at the APs — again as I’m trying to open the house. Then there is Nate with his girlfriends in the front row… They’re sitting there eating Milky Ways, nate does nothing about it and they try to hide them from me as I walk up…
After the show we went out to Friday’s for a quick bite. Then I went to sleep and here I am back at the bob watching the paint dry again… Then I get to take a couple hours off before coming back this evening for strike tonight. Sunday I’m back here bright and early and the same thing Monday… This is just going to be a fun couple of days… Let’s see if I can make it through without killing anyone in drama…
Saturday with the painter didn’t go all that bad. I was happy to finally have some time to get some stuff done like getting my blog back online and getting through email. I think as of today I’m down to like 47 messages which is pretty darn cool! (Now of course, this is just in my inbox and doesn’t count the thousand or so that are in _inbox!)
Saturday night I went out with Sarah, Pryo, Chad and Richie to Outback in Temecula. Then we were going to go see The Grudge, but Sarah decided that it was going to be too scary for her. We couldn’t find another suitable movie and Sarah really wanted to go to the Bob so we started heading there, but then realized she had to be home at midnight… So much for that thought as it was about 11. We ended up just spending the last hour of the evening in the parking lot at the high school… how fun!
Sunday we did another CYT show in the Bob. Nothing major to report there other than the hassles of dealing with a “sold-out” house. They probably had almost 100 seats open at show time. They wanted me to put out chairs and all sorts of things for this sold out show when they had all this extra room. I’m waiting for our post production meeting where hopefully we can get some of this stuff cleared up so that things will be improved for the future. Sunday night I actually had dinner with my family for the first time in a while and then I think I came home to watch a movie and go to bed at a decent time.
I spent most of Monday working from home on misc. stuff throughout most of the day. Then I met Lupe to edit her music in the afternoon. Then it was off to Sports’ Look Pizza for Mike Farmer’s party for the GT staff. It was nice to see some of the people I haven’t seen for a while, but I didn’t get to stay too long as Bouse was starving and wanted to go out to dinner. So we were off to go see Donna. I kidnapped Aimee and made her come even though she was “sick” and had no money. I don’t know what Bouse had before dinner, or if he forgot to take his medicine or something last night, but wow… it was crazy… We didn’t even need Promack there last night to keep things lively! Chewing on crayons, breaking off the tops of the orange ones, asking Donna what we wanted to eat… it was just wild fun… What else can I say?
Of course, I managed to get myself into some trouble that night cause I lost track of time and forgot to call Sarah at 8 to see how things were going. Oops! I’m sorry!
Today I went down to the school to edit music this morning, but Carrie never showed up to do the editing. Maybe we got our wires crossed or something, but I thought today was the day… Anyways, I hung out in the theatre with Chad for most of the day. We talked about schedules and stuff, checked in on the Apple updates, went to lunch and then worked on figuring out how the heck to stock the kotex dispenser in the women’s restroom… The fun just never stopped!
Tonight I went down to see Alana and Tim with Batch at the Cheesecake Factory. That place is so wonderful… I don’t know how I lasted through 2 months without it! Alana tried to convince me that I should go to Idaho despite the financial constraints, like my mother keeps saying… I don’t know… Maybe it is time to seriously figure out what it would cost to live in Idaho and how much I could make out there… Karen also said she would try to find me a job, so who knows… maybe this will all fall together somehow.
On the opposite front, TR gave me his blessings today to do the airband show without school support. Now I guess we just have to figure out the insurance part of it and find someone who wants to loan us $20k to put the show on. It sounds like we might be able to do two regional shows for the city schools too if we wanted… Wed, Thur, Fri & Sat now! I guess we’ll just have to see if we can find the money somewhere… It sure would be fun, but is also going to be a lot of work that we need to get started on quickly.
I guess realistically I could work on this show from Idaho if I ended up going and just fly home to make it happen that week… So much to figure out… I guess I need to start saving my pennies again in hopes that maybe this could work…
So the new version of MacJournal seems to have some new features that make the blogger interface better, but yet when I click on post and it says “entry transmitted successfully” I don’t see anything here… Any thoughts?
Bouse is in town and wants to know if we want to get together and do something tonight…
Who’s in and what do you want to do?
Not sure exactly how it works, but this is amazingly accurate. Read the full
description before looking at the picture.
The attached photo has 2 identical dolphins in it. It was used in a case
study on stress level at St. Mary’s Hospital. Look at both dolphins jumping
out of the water. The dolphins are identical.
A closely monitored, scientific study of a group revealed that in spite of
the fact that the dolphins are identical, a person under stress would find
differences in the two dolphins. If there are many differences found between
both dolphins, it means that the person is experiencing a great amount of
stress.
Look at the photograph and if you find more than one or two differences you
may want to take a vacation.

So I just got this from NetFlix:
Dear Scott,
Over the last five years, we’ve grown the Netflix community to over 2.2 million satisfied members. We appreciate your business, and our goal has always been to provide you great service.
Since our price increase in June, some of our members have expressed concerns about the new pricing. We’ve listened to this feedback and are pleased to inform you that we’re lowering the price of your Netflix 3-at-a-time program from $21.99 per month to 17.99 per month.
You don’t need to do anything. Your membership will automatically move to the lower 17.99 price. The lower price will appear on your next bill on or after November 1, 2004. You will still get the same great service and convenience, but now you will pay less for it. So please sit back, relax and enjoy your movies!
-Your Friends at Netflix
A couple months ago they raised the price from $19.99 to $21.99. Seemed fair as they haven’t changed prices since they started the service many years ago. But now they’ve reduced prices by $2 from the original price… I wonder if they had so many people leave that it was reducing their total income… Interesting. I guess we could show them and have more people sign up now at the lower price…
Heaven bend to take my hand
And lead me through the fire
Be the long awaited answer
To a long and painful fight
Truth be told I’ve tried my best
But somewhere along the way
I got caught up in all there was to offer
And the cost was so much more than I could bear
Though I’ve tried, I’ve fallen…
I have sunk so low
I have messed up
Better I should know
So don’t come round here
And tell me I told you so…
We all begin with good intent
Love was raw and young
We believed that we could change ourselves
THe past could be undone
But we carry on our backs the burden
Time always reveals
The lonely light of morning
The wound that would not heal
It’s the bitter taste of losing everything
That I have held so dear.
I’ve fallen…
I have sunk so low
I have messed up
Better I should know
So don’t come round here
And tell me I told you so…
Heaven bend to take my hand
Nowhere left to turn
I’m lost to those I thought were friends
To everyone I know
Oh they turn their heads embarassed
Pretend that they don’t see
But it’s one missed step
One slip before you know it
And there doesn’t seem a way to be redeemed
Though I’ve tried, I’ve fallen…
I have sunk so low
I have messed up
Better I should know
So don’t come round here
And tell me I told you so…

OK, so I’m probably a little behind the time, but I just found a script that lets you save the movies (music videos, movie trailers) that you view in iTunes/iTMS.
set originalFile to do shell script “lsof |grep -i QTP| grep iTunes|head -1|awk ‘{ print $9 }’”
if length of originalFile is greater than 0 then
set newFile to POSIX path of (choose file name with prompt “Save movie as:” default name “iTunes Video.mov”)
if length of newFile is greater than 0 then
if newFile does not end with “.mov” then set newFile to newFile & “.mov”
do shell script “cp -v ‘” & originalFile & “‘ ‘” & newFile & “‘”
end if
else
display dialog “No movie found.” buttons {“OK”} default button “OK”
end if
drop her in your itunes/scripts folder and your set to go!
OK, so I think it’s been a while, like since October 5th or something. My site went down a while back because NetMondo just decided to delete my account for no reason at all. I still have yet to figure it out. So I’m slowly getting things back online and I guess it is time to start writing again instead of just posting random things in my blog…
It’s been so long I’m not even sure if I can remember what all has happened. Homecoming is over now. Pictures at myfhs for those of you that care. Ryan, Nathaniel, Nate, Chad and I all got up really early on homecoming Friday morning to video tape the kidnapping of the court. (Well, they did, I stayed at the high school to take care of things there.) Ryan did a good job with the video – it’s online if you want to see it too… The pep rally went good, but was still lacking from the good old days. I wasn’t all that impressed by any of the floats this year… I think we’re having problems picking themes that produce good floats. I guess we’ll have to see how we place in the nation this year. The juniors won (again), but not by too much (points at myfhs).
We started talking about hosting the NC Regional and the finals this year for airbands, but Ruth decided last week that she didn’t want us to do it, so another fun project down the tubes unless someone can figure out how to revive it. I’m really bummed that we won’t be doing airbands, cause that was really getting me going and was a big reason for me to stay here vs. going to Idaho.
Speaking of Idaho, I still haven’t figured out what I want to do. Now with no airbands, and some of the stupid crap we have to go through at this school, I wonder if I really should pack up and leave for good. I think what it comes down to though is money. I don’t think I can make enough out there to support myself and my current obligations without having to worry about making the bills each month. I can tell you this – if money wasn’t a concern I would be there in a heartbeat. Heck, if money wasn’t a concern, I would have stayed out there for the Fall!
I’ve been so busy with things lately that I haven’t had time to keep in touch with anyone really lately. I sent off a couple emails just in the last couple days now that things have started to quiet down a bit, but haven’t heard back from anyone yet.
The theatre is picking up finally. We’ve got CYT in here this week and next doing Joseph. Maybe one of these days I’ll actually sit down and watch the show instead of running around fixing things. I was aggrivated yesterday when I showed up almost a half hour early (before the half hour early call) and there were people waiting for me to open the building. Why can’t people just commit to a time and keep it? Why is it that when you try to do something nice or try to show up early to make your life easy, you just end up getting hit with something because you went out of your way to be nice/show up early? Oh well, such is life.
I guess about two weeks ago I went out with Sarah, Pryo, Chad and Promack to Oscar’s and then Sarah, Pyro and I went and saw Shark Tale. Sarah and I were planning on going to see The Notebook at the cheap theater, but pyro didn’t want to see it so he vetoed our vote and made us go see the other movie. Pyro and I also dragged Sarah to Chili’s on Monday night as she had never been there. I guess I should mention that this is Ussher, not any of the other millions of Sarah’s… I can’t even keep them straight anymore!
I haven’t been to Baskin Robbins to see Haugen since the time she was hiding in the back and I had to settle for a mint choc chip shake. That’s probably a good thing though cause I haven’t been out to exercise for a while and have been doing a lot of eating out lately…
I’m supposed to register for classes at Fullerton in early November, but they say they have never received an official transcript from Palomar for me. They want me to hand deliver one to them so that they can take the hold off of me so i can register for classes. Of course, I have to get one from Palomar first… I’m actually thinking that the problem is that they didn’t take off the in progress classes, so maybe I can just have them delete those classes and things will work out. I guess I’ll have to make another call next week.
Pyro, Floate, Batch and I went and saw Ladder 49 Thursday night. The movie was pretty good and as much as I want to comment on the ending I can’t cause it will ruin it for you! Afterwards we went to Friday’s for the 4th time this week or something crazy… Donna and Jeremy are still fighting over us. We walked in Wednesday night and they were both working. Donna saw us at the front and told us we had to sit in her section before Jeremy could see us. It’s funny how much they complain about each other… Donna did make us a special dessert the other night though – and we even made her eat some of it!
Sarah, whoever and I are supposed to go out again tonight, but I guess her boyfriend came home a day early so she isn’t sure what is going on for the evening. She said that she would go out with whoever wanted her the most – basically whoever made the most compelling argument for her to spend the evening with them, so help me out and come up with some good arguments for me!
I’m sure there is more to tell you, but I can’t think of it at this point.
