No I’m not in Jail

Well, we won’t find out till tomorrow morning exactly how well things went tonight with George, but I’m feeling mostly good about it. Our meeting this evening started off rocky, but I believe it was Chad who was able to save it and now I think we might have a good thing going for everyone involved. Maybe more details to come tomorrow.

I got up at a decent time this morning, but just started right in with the emails and phone calls and next thing I knew it was noon and I was way late in making it to the Bob. We went to the Firehouse and then it was off to the Bob to mask the stage and start painting… Dude, it takes forever to paint that thing by yourself… Let’s hope that one coat will do it.

I got an email about meeting with Jamar today about myfhs and the marquee. I wouldn’t have dealt with it today, but I was interested so I made it work. I guess Ruth wants the control of the site and marquee under a district employee. I explained to Jamar that I am a district employee and that my job description includes the marquee and website… This could be another interesting battle… Why does life always have to be so hard?

Can’t think of anything else worth reporting other than it is way past my bedtime… Thank you Father for giving me the patience today to work through problems and hard situations. Thank you for the people in my life to assist me when I feel that all options have been exhausted and yet there are always new ones. In the name of Your son Jesus Christ…

$5k

So I happen to have about $5k in cash in my hands and I am presented with the question… What do I do with it?

Ever wondered what it costs to solve a problem? I mean like if someone is causing you a problem… and you want to hire someone to solve that “problem” for you… I’m told it’s $5k.

So now the crossroads… Do I take the $5k (in cash mind you… and at least 3rd generation cash by this point) and put it to good use financing this airband show or do I put it to even better use by solving the bigger problem at hand?

I’m kidding of course… Well, I mean… I’m about 1/2 kidding… Well, maybe 1/4 kidding…

So I get this email this morning when I wake up – granted haven’t even had breakfast yet at this point or anything – from TR, the ASB director at Carlsbad… He’s asking me if I’m still interested in doing the show (airbands). Well of course we’re still interested, that’s why we’ve spend the last three weeks planning this show and have sent out packets to all the schools, etc, etc, etc… Well it turns out that George went and booked a venue thinking that he was going to do this show by himself! I’m not going to go into any more details at this point… but man… This has been a fun day…

Skipping through the boring stuff in the middle… subway for lunch, mopping the stage at the bob so we can paint tomorrow…

We (Chad, Bouse and I) drive down to meet George for a meeting in Escondido at Chili’s. He says he’ll be there at 4:15. I know he wouldn’t make it so I say 4:30. He agrees. 5:30 rolls around and he still isn’t there… I call TR and happen to mention that I’ve been sitting there waiting for George for over an hour… TR basically gives us his blessings to do the show because the dates that George has aren’t going to work for him (ready for this? George booked airbands on top of another event he already had booked that weekend at … of all places… Carlsbad High School!)

So I’m sure there will be more drama this week and next as we figure this out… but wish me luck, pray for me, whatever it takes for me to get through this and make this all happen. Why is this show trying to be so freaking hard? We’ve got everything down but these stupid big problems keep coming up!

I’m going to bed now so that I can’t possibly cause any more trouble today!

Raining Inside

Someone really needs to fix the whole raining inside the Mission Theatre problem… Spent more time today working on getting that place taken care of. I see a big insurance claim coming across so that could be “good” for business, but we’ll have to see how it goes.

I almost thought I had my new phone today cause Best Buy San Marcos said they had the 650 in stock, but when I got there, they were wrong and didn’t for whatever reason. I guess I’ll have to keep trying… (For those that don’t know, I’m taking my 600 in on their “warranty” and going to take the cash and buy the 650.)

Talked with Ryan about video stuff for the company tonight which was good. Went well and hopefully we can start going places with that here soon. I want to have a big company meeting some time next week with everyone so we can get everyone on the same page and present our plan for the next year, etc.

I don’t think I’m going to make it to MacWorld this year… It seems like no one is really dying to go and I don’t really have the cash for it. I’d rather stay here and make some money instead of having to deal with paying it off later although we could probably use the vacation. Too bad cause I was looking forward to seeing Alison and Allison! We’ll have to work something else out for later.

That’s all folks!

Financing for Airbands

All three of the people that expressed interest in loaning us money to put on the show have not come through yet so here is what we need:

We need to come up with approximately $20,000 to put on the show. We need about $10,000 of this immediately to cover the deposit and starting expenses. In February, we probably need the next $5k and in March depending on ticket pre-sales the remaining $5k.

Here is what we are offering:

A full return on your money, plus 2% per month interest. (That’s 24% APR.) We should have the balance paid off by 15 April 2005 (just in time for taxes!)

Now here is the catch. In the event that the show bombs, CBC Tech Inc. will pay off our loans as quickly as possible, but I cannot guarantee how quickly that will be – but know that Bouse & I will do whatever possible to ensure that you are paid back as quickly as possible and you will receive 2% per month on whatever is owed. We feel that we have budgeted the event to the point where we will be able to repay all loans by April 15th, so this is just a backup plan. Bouse and I don’t get paychecks until after the loans are paid – so know that we want to make sure everything goes according to plan.

In addition to receiving interest, we will mention your name/company in the program as financing provided by. We can probably work out other deals too if necessary to promote a company or person if that is what it takes to get the loan.

So guys – please ask around – ask your parents, employers, etc. if they have some money (even if we’re only talking about $500 or $1k) they are willing to loan.

We’ll take whatever we can get from wherever we can get it.

Thanks!

Napolean Dynamite

OK guys… you’ve got to help me out with this one…

WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE SMOKING???

How could you like that movie? Did I get shipped the wrong thing or something?

That was easily in the top 10 stupidest wastes of my time, most likely of my lifetime, but definitely of 2004!

MacWorld?

What is going on with MacWorld this year? Anyone know? Does anyone want to go? What’s the plan people cause I need to figure out my schedule for that week…
