What a Waste

What ever happened to learning stuff in school? Today was the biggest waste of time I’ve had to deal with for quite some time now. Got there plenty early – then parked in a long line of cars waiting to get one day parking permits. Some idiot put the machine too low to the ground for you to use while in your car, so you have to get out. And of course, the thing only takes quarters or dollar bills. Have a five or dimes? You’re out of luck!

Once finally securing a real parking spot, I moved on to trying to secure a real parking permit (not just a single day one). I shortly discovered the line for student financial services wrapped a good portion of the way around the campus, or at least the quad! Decided that I would deal with that later… Now for some books… Big lines there too… How about lunch… Del Taco here I come! (We need one in Fallbrook so bad!) More lines!

Finally go back, check out the lines again, discovering they’ve only gotten longer and go to the library for a while.

Calculus was well… boring… and we didn’t even get into math yet! Then, business writing… Oh my… In 16 weeks… Yes, 16 weeks… I’m going to learn how to write a memo! Oh my! I wonder if they have an advanced business writing class where I get to learn how to write a letter in my upper division studies!

Got out of that class early and decided to brave the line for a parking permit… About 2 hours later I finally got one and then rushed to my next class, now 30 mins late. The room was packed, but after we sent the crashers hiking there was finally room to sit. The teacher for this class, World Cinema, reminds me totally of Sandy Blyth. Looks, sounds, talks like Sandy! Looks like it would be an interesting class… I may have a hard debate between this and the religion class on Wednesday.. or maybe I’ll be crazy and keep both!

So I look back to Idaho… I don’t remember thinking that any of the classes there were total wastes of time… In fact, I think I remember enjoying some of the classes… I do miss Brother Allison and Brother Hirschi, along with many others… Today was the deadline to submit an application for deferment. I wonder if I will reapply and consider going back for good. I wonder if they would let me at this point?

Speaking of Idaho… I talked to Amanda tonight. She wants me to take pictures and DJ her wedding…

Oh well, I must get some sleep cause I’ll be up in 6 hours!
