OK… You all missed an absolutely wonderful show! Wicked was AWESOME! All I have to say is you should have come! It sure wasn’t cheap, and it was a long drive, but I would do it again in a heartbeat… In fact… if you’ve got the tickets, I’ll use them this weekend! (Richie – guess what… You’re working a wedding or two!) :)

Seriously though, the show was excellent. It cleared up so many things from the soundtrack and now the soundtrack is even better than it was before! Pantages was amazing… I wish we had a theater like that! Sometimes I am really impressed with things that were done back in the early 1900s, especially given that this building was built during the Great Depression. Yes, it has been remodeled since then, but I think they mainly just restored it back to what it originally looked like…

I can’t say much about the show without risking giving stuff away, so I’m just going to say you have to go and see it! All the cast was great, possibly even better than the original (not having seen it of course). Congrats to Stephanie J. Block & Kendra Kassebaum (and the rest of the cast & crew) for an absolutely wonderful performance/show! I’ve got the date on my calendar for when tickets go on sale for next summer at OCPAC. (If you have some money to blow and don’t want to wait, check out eBay for some tickets for this weekend!)

Well, other than Wicked, there really hasn’t been anything going on. I’ve been working from home, but really nothing fun to report there other than we have some good sales pending…

This weekend is full of weddings and video taping Joseph at the Mission. How fun is that? Nevermind, don’t answer that question… Good night, God Bless, Go see Wicked!

Other than being really tired of standing today went well. Chad and I got some more products added to the store and the shows went well. Cindy, Kimber and Ussher ended up coming for the second show and Stefanie came for the whole day so that helped keep us alive. No Alison today though… (she brought us food Friday & Saturday… Thank you!)

That was basically the entire day… Not sure what all is going on this week other than Wicked on Tuesday! Pyro comes back Wednesday, so hopefully we can get some stuff done that we’ve been waiting on towards the end of the week.

Promack is trying to get me to buy a house with him… He wants to live in like Pasadena, but I’m telling him that I’m not going any farther north than Tom’s Farms at this point. I guess we’ll have to see what happens… Maybe some of the new developments along the 15 near Lake Elsinore… I wasn’t quite planning on making this move this soon, but I guess if the timing is right, I may have to go for it… Time will tell… He supposedly did some research today and is going to talk to me tomorrow about it…

Good night all… God bless!

I had a fairly long boring day today at the Bob doing sound for Studio 31. It wasn’t that bad, it was just completely uneventful and so got old after a while. Tomorrow should be better as Cindy, Kimber and Ussher are going to come to see the show.

So let’s see what’s happened since I last wrote…

GT is still basically in the same condition. Amps & EQ have been ordered, but have not yet arrived yet and therefore nothing more has happened.

I did a weekend full of weddings last weekend and we went to the Cheesecake Factory to celebrate Susan’s birthday.

On Monday I met with Greg about Crossroads… Some good stuff sounds like it will be happening with them soon, including most likely a concert Oct 9 & 10 with Barlow Girl. Please pay for all of this to work out for everyone involved. They are still working on finding funding for additional television shows and are trying to follow the Lord’s promptings in other directions…

I registered for some of my classes on Tuesday. I couldn’t register for my accounting class because they still haven’t approved my BYUI econ class as an equivalent of their required Econ class. Hopefully they get that all figured out soon so that I can still try and get into this Accounting class and figure out the rest of my schedule.

I really can’t think of anything else worth reporting at this point, so I guess that means good night! Wicked next week!

Thanks to Batch the GT system is up and running again, for the most part. We still have a couple little things to take care of: EQ, Satellite, Video. I also have to go down and hook back up the venice at the gazebo (the new one) and make sure that it works before I need it on Thursday for a wedding.

I spent most of the day researching options for the EQ for GT and I still am not sure exactly what I want to do, so I’ll probably spend most of tomorrow doing the same thing! I also think I have to break the bad news to them that it is time to order some new amps for the main hall as the old ones are so dirty, the level control knobs only work if they are in the same spot they have been for the last 10 years!

I think it is time to start a maintenance contract with them… We come in once a quarter or something and give everything a good cleaning and testing. Hopefully we can keep everything running smoother and cleaner that way.

That was my fun for the day.. Now it is way past my bedtime… Good night all!

At yesterday’s wedding, when the clergy asked for the bride’s ring from the best man the guys started looking at each other and then a ring went flying through the air. Then it went back again and eventually it ended up in the lake! Obviously this was planned, but the groom was not happy. Fortunately, it wasn’t the real ring, but it sure got everyone paying attention at least for a minute.

I stopped by the Bob after the wedding to see the beginning of the North Coast Church thing. I even got to hear CJ sing the FHS alma mater, although she couldn’t seem to remember any more of it than I could! It should be interesting to see what NCC brings us…

Today it was back to the normal paper pushing and dealing with the calls. Pyro and I were going to go into the GT to start with their new rack this afternoon, but he ended up getting called to go out on tour through the end of the month. So much for that plan! Fortunately, since it was all Batch’s fault anyway…, Batch came up to work on the rack with me tonight.

Of course, I now have a couple people to yell at in the morning. First, we start unpacking the rack and notice that it is sitting a little awkwardly. I think it is safe to say that it was dropped or knocked over in shipment. I guess someone didn’t notice the big sign on the packaging that said do not accept if tip meter is red… It was red alright! Fortunately, a little dents and some bent frames I don’t think will cause too much trouble for this one stand alone rack, but we sure weren’t happy…

Then there was the problem with the Venice… I took the new one apart to move the connector panel to the bottom of the board instead of the top (for rack mounting) and I find out that in addition to all of the ribbon cables being zip tied to a bar inside keeping the panel from rotating, the power cables aren’t long enough! It was a good thing that I had another venice on site that didn’t seem to have the same short power cord problem… So… the gazebo system has a new console now and the house system just got a used Venice board… I hope there is nothing else wrong with the new console!

After getting all the new equipment in the rack and cleaning all the trash up (and putting both consoles back together) we decided to call it a night. We grabbed some food at Macaroni Grill and now I think it is time to call it a night. Tomorrow I have to figure out what we want to do for an EQ for them (as we think their DOD thing (long discontinued) isn’t balanced and has enough dust in the faders to kill something). I may try out the PreSonus DEQ… Anyone need anything from PreSonus? Or Furman while I’m at it?

Wow, I’m two weeks behind… I thought it was only a week or so! Oops! I can’t say that I’ve had anything interesting really to report. I’ve been doing a lot of work for CBC and have been cleaning up around the house.

Last week I got the joy of driving to south central LA to pick up Richie’s rack. Let’s just say that I won’t be doing that again anytime soon… I did get my Fudds though, so it was all good!

This week I got to do some more driving, but only to Ontario this time. Once again, I was picking up something for Richie… This time it was the case for his new plasma display. It would have been really easy except that I was sitting in traffic most of the time up there and part of the way back. (It was Tuesday after the 4th and I think I a lot of people were still working on getting home from their vacations.)

I got some massive cleaning done this morning. I was throwing away stuff left and right. Give me a couple more days and you might not be able to even recognize the place. Of course, it is still going to take a while just to get rid of all the boxes that have collected…

Life is pretty boring when I can’t talk about most of the things going on… I really think I need to get out more and not spend all day working!

I found out today why we store everything off the ground in the millhouse at GT… There was a nice little flood in there today. I guess the water pressure got too high and water started spitting out the pressure relief valve. I’m wearing my boots tomorrow!

Speaking of tomorrow, I’m still trying to figure out if I can make it to singles ward and still make it to the wedding in time or if I am just pushing my luck for that to happen… I guess we’ll see how daring I’m feeling tomorrow!

In other GT news, the new equipment rack for the grand hall showed up, so now it is time to have a wiring party. Any volunteers?

Jeremy: Friedrich Nietzsche? We can’t burn that! He’s one of the most important thinkers in 19th Century!
Elsa: Please! Nietzsche was a chauvinist pig who was in love with his sister.
Jeremy: He was not a chauvinist pig!
Elsa: But he was in love with his sister.
Brian Parks: Uh, excuse me, guys? Yeah, we got a whole section on tax laws down here we can burn.

Jack Hall: [on Sam failing calculus] I’m not angry. I’m disappointed.
Sam Hall: Do you wanna hear my side of it?
Jack Hall: Sam, how can there be two sides?
Sam Hall: Hey, look, I got every question right on the final and the only reason Mr. Spengler failed me was because I didn’t write out the solutions.
Jack Hall: Why not?
Sam Hall: I do them in my head.
Jack Hall: Did you tell him that?
Sam Hall: I did. He said he didn’t believe me. He said that if he couldn’t do them in my head then I must be cheating.
Jack Hall: Well, that’s ridiculous! How can he fail you for being smarter than he is?
Sam Hall: That’s what I said.
Jack Hall: [smirks] You did? How’d he take it?
Sam Hall: He flunked me, remember?

Sounds kind of like my high school economics class… :)

The Day After Tomorrow

I’m having problems deciding between declaring a concentration in accounting or entertainment and tourism management. Either one would be a degree in Business with a concentration in xxxxx. ETM is more of what I seem to do on a daily basis, but accounting could give me a good education and a good fallback plan.

Both concentrations would take the same amount of time to complete and are the same number of units.

Any thoughts?

Here is a project for someone…

I think it would be cool if my background could dynamically adjust to math the current itunes track’s album artwork…

I just did a quick search and couldn’t find anything, but maybe it is out there somewhere… or maybe someone can figure out how to make it happen!
