Thanks Riley…

During World War II, a US marine was separated from
his unit on a Pacific island. The fighting had been
intens e, and in the smoke and the crossfire he had
lost touch with his comrades.

Alone in the jungle, he could hear enemy soldiers
coming in his direction. Scrambling for cover, he
found his way up a high ridge to several small caves in
the rock. Quickly he crawled inside one of the
caves. Although safe for the moment, he realized that
once the enemy soldiers looking for him swept up the
ridge, they would quickly search all the caves and he
would be killed.

As he waited, he prayed, “Lord, if it be your will,
please protect me.

Whatever your will though, I love you and trust you.
Amen.”

After praying, he lay quietly listening to the enemy
begin to draw close. He thought, “Well, I guess the
Lord isn’t going to help me out of this one.”! Then he
saw a spider begin to build a web over the front of
his cave.

As he watched, listening to the enemy searching for
him all the while , the spider layered strand after
strand of web across the opening of the cave.

“Hah,” he thought. “What I need is a brick wall and
what the Lord has sent me is a spider web. God does
have a sense of humor.”

As th e enemy drew closer he watched from the darkness
of his hideout and could see them searching one cave
after another. As they came to his, he got ready to
make his last stand. To his amazement, however, after
glancing in the direction of his cave, they moved on.
Suddenly, he realized that with the spider web over
the entrance, his cave looked as if no one had entered
for quite a while. “Lord, forgive me,” prayed the
young man. “I had forgotten that in you a spider’s web
is stronger than a brick wall.”

We all face times of great trouble. When we do, it is
so easy to forget the victories that God would work in
our lives, sometimes in the most surprising ways. As
the great leader, Nehemiah, reminded the people of
Israel when they faced the task of rebuilding
Jerusalem, “In God we will have success!” [Nehemiah
2:20]

Remember: Whatever is happening in your life, with
God, a mere spider’s web can become a brick wall of
protection. Believe He is with you always. Just speak
His name through Jesus His son, and you will see His
great power and love for you.

Please Pass It On and Share God’s Amazing Grace!

I was the first customer in the door today at The Cheesecake Factory in Brea at 11 a.m.! I have never seen the place that empty, it was shocking. It filled up surprisingly fast after they opened, and there was a wait when I left about an hour later. Of course I ate too much as usual, but it was good.

School started a couple weeks ago, and it looks like it could be a really boring semester full of paying a lot of money to drive to school twice a week to listen to a teacher read the book to us in one class and have another one take ten minutes to explain that 0.1 plus 0.27 equals 0.37!

Llama says “Nice Boys don’t always finish last:”

-To every guy that says I love you.
-To every guy that opens doors.
-To every guy that walks on the outside of a sidewalk so he can be the first to get hit by a car that careens off the road and push her out of the way.
-To every guy that cooks dinner for her.
-To every guy that said, “Sex can wait.”
-To every guy that said, “You’re beautiful.”
-To every guy that was never too busy to drive across town to see her.
-To every guy that gives flowers and a card when she is sick (And even a stuffed animal perhaps).(or starbucks in kristen and alanna’s case)
-To every guy who has given her flowers just because she is feeling a bit depressed.
-To every guy that said he would die for her.
-To every guy that really would.
-To every guy that did what she wanted to do.
-To everyguy that treated her like a princess.
-To every guy that cried in front of her.
-To every guy that she cried in fornt of.
-To every guy that holds hands with her.
-To everyguy that kisses her with meaning.
-To every guy that hugs her when shes sad.
-To every guy who would give their jacket up.
-To every guy that calls to make sure she got home safe.
- to every guy that would sit and wait for her for hours just to be able to see her for ten minutes.
-To every guy that would give his seat up.
-To every guy that just wants to cuddle.
-To every guy that will just sleep (no sex) with her.
-To every guy that reassured her that she was beautiful no matter what (even if she got fat).
-To every guy who told his secrets to her.
-To every guy that tried to show how much he cared through every word and every breathe.
-To everyguy that thought maybe this could be the one.
-To every guy that believed in her dreams.
-To every guy that would have done anything so she could achieve them.
-To every guy that never laughed at her when she told him her dreams.
-To every guy that wasnt just trying to get laid.
-To every guy that actually listened.

—*To every guy that gave his heart only to have it shoved back in his face.

This one is for you.

I saw you yesterday as you began your daily chores. You awoke
without kneeling to pray. As a matter of fact, you didn’t even
bless your meals, or pray before going to bed last night. You are
so unthankful, I like that about you. I cannot tell you how glad I
am that you have not changed your way of living, Fool, you are
mine.
Remember, you and I have been going steady for years. and I still
don’t love you yet As a matter of fact, I hate you, because I hate
God. I am only using you to get even with God. He kicked me out of
heaven, and I’m going to use you as long as possible to pay him
back.
You see, Fool, GOD LOVES YOU and HE has great plans in store for
you. But you have yielded your life to me, and I’m going to make
your life a living hell. That way, we’ll be together twice. This
will really hurt God.
Thanks to you, I’m really showing Him who’s boss in your life
with all of the good times we’ve had. We have been watching dirty
movies, cursing people out, stealing, lying, being
hypocritical, fornicating, overeating,
telling dirty jokes, gossiping, being judgmental, back stabbing
people, disrespecting adults, and those in leadership positions,
no respect for the Church, bad attitudes.
SURELY you don’t want to give all this up. Come on, Fool, let’s
burn together forever. I’ve got some hot plans for us. This is just
a letter of appreciation from me to you. I’d like to say “THANKS”
for letting me use you for most of your foolish life

You are so gullible, I laugh at you. When you are tempted to sin,
you give in HA HA HA, you make me sick. Sin is beginning to take
it’s toll on your life. You look 20 years older, and now, I need
new blood. So go ahead and teach some children how to sin. All you have to
do is smoke, get drunk or drink while underage, cheat,
gamble, gossip, fornicate, and live being as selfish as possible.

Do all of this in the presence of children and they will do it too.
Kids are like that.
Well, Fool, I have to let you go for now. I’ll be back in a couple of
seconds to tempt you again. If you were smart, you would run
somewhere, confess you sins, and live for God with what little bit
of life that you have left. It’s not my nature to warn anyone, but
to be your age and still sinning, it’s becoming a bit ridiculous.
Don’t get me wrong, I still hate you.

IT’S JUST THAT YOU’D MAKE A BETTER FOOL FOR CHRIST.
P.S. If you really love me, you won’t share this letter with anyone

I asked God to take away my habit…
God said, No.
It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said, No.
His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary

I asked God to grant me patience.
God said, No.
Patience is a byproduct of tribulations;
it isn’t granted, it is learned.

I asked God to give me happiness.
God said, No.
I give you blessings; Happiness is up to you.

I asked God to spare me pain.
God said, No.
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares
and brings you closer to me…

I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said, No.
You must grow on your own! ,
but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life.
God said, No.
I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things.

I asked God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me.
God said…Ahhhh, finally you have the idea.
