We had a great institute lesson tonight, as we always do. We talked about the red heifer in Numbers 19 for the most part. I really liked how we compared ourselves to the Jews and exploring how much we really are Jews with just a bit more truth and authority.
I had this massive headache this afternoon at the office and had to just come home and take a nap. I was going to go shopping with the girls tonight, but by the time I got to the point where I felt like I could go out again there wasn’t enough time to make it worthwhile. And, I’m not sure that I was ready for all that energy with my head still hurting. I’m sure it has had something to do with my weird sleep schedule this week and I think I’ve been getting a cold or fighting one off.
I’m trying to get to bed early tonight, way early in fact, so that I can get up at 3:30 and be at the temple for the 6 a.m. session. Sister Dowden was trying to talk me into going with her at 8:30 which sounds great. I do like the idea of getting there early and getting in another two sessions though. That’s two more people that I can serve tomorrow. I guess we’ll find out in the morning when I wake up which session I’ll be making it to.
It’s looking like we’re going to have a smaller group for baptisms, so I may actually participate this time. I normally like to run away and do something else when I see there is a large enough group. I would love to help do baptisms for Sister Mattson’s family. What a great way of saying thank you to her and President for their service to us and the Lord. If you’re available to join us from 3-5 tomorrow (Friday) please do.
For those that don’t know, we perform baptisms for the dead so that those that have passed on in this life without the blessing of being baptized into the Church. We can perform these baptisms by proxy for those who have died and those individuals can then choose to accept or reject what has been done on their behalf.
